Polish gold medal to DeLaval calf feeder CF150
DeLaval won a gold medal for best product in the category “Machines and equipment” with the calf feeder CF150 at the International Agricultural Fair POLAGRA-FARM 2004. The fair, held for the first time since Poland’s accession to the EU, proved to be one of the biggest events of its kind in Europe and definitely the biggest in Eastern Europe.
The exhibition was officially opened by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Wojciech Olejniczak. The motto for this year’s fair was “Let’s see the strengths of agriculture”. This motto reflected the newfound enthusiasm within the Polish diary industry partly thanks to the EU membership and the promise by the government to modernise the farming industry and to stabilise the farming sector. More than 80 000 visitors, many from the neighbouring countries, visited the stands, admired the exhibited animals and participated in seminars.
The POLAGRA fair is by tradition organised together with the 19th Polish National Animal Breeding Exhibition. This meant that livestock shows and competitions were held during the four day exhibition. Many of DeLaval’s customers are leading Polish breeding companies and they won awards for their breeding cattle. The cows were milked with a DeLaval pipeline system equipped with various milking units. DeLaval equipment was also used to feed the cows and to cool the milk. Apart from the prize winning CF150 DeLaval also presented the swinging cow brush and a variety of other farm supply products.
