Royal award to the DeLaval cell counter DCC
During The Dairy Event that was held in UK in September the DeLaval cell counter DCC received the prestigious Prince Phillip Award. The Dairy Event is the most important exhibition for British dairy farmers and the place where they meet processors, retailers and the supply trade.
Each year the Prince Phillip Award competition is held during the Dairy Event. It commemorates the prince’s Presidency of The Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers from 1973-1975. The award is presented to the most practical, relevant and best presented technical demonstration at the annual Dairy Farming Event. This year a further category was added known as “The Certificate of Merit”. This category was won by DeLaval for its DeLaval cell counter DCC.
The Award is in the form of a framed Certificate specially designed for the competition and signed by His Royal Highness. The certificate is retained by the winning entrant. The award was presented by The Deputy President of The Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers, Mr John Beckett, to DeLaval Regional Aftermarket Sales Manager GB David Gordon.
“We are delighted to have received the Certificate of Merit for our DCC machine. We feel the DeLaval cell counter will have a major impact on one of the largest problem areas faced by the Dairy Farmer world wide. It will give them “the power of knowing” on farm and within 60 seconds the somatic cell count of a particular sample of milk, allowing remedial action to start immediately” David Gordon said after the award ceremony.
